For the July trip I have provisionally booked a rhib for a dive at the Bass Rock in the Forth. Leaving from North Berwick, times as yet to be confirmed.
Cost £23 per day in total (two dives) - Returning to harbour for a surface interval
Apparently one of the best dive sites in the area, this trip will be suitable for all levels of diver within the club. However as this is a rhib trip I will only allow divers who have been reasonably active so far this year to attend - if you are not sure if this applies to you, then please ask.
Places are on a first come first served basis, though I am reserving a couple spaces until I get chance to communicate to all in teh club especailly those who do not have regular internet access.
If all spaces are taken please add your name to the subs bench
1 Sam pd £10 2 Graeme pd £10 3 Hugh 4 Martin G - £10pd 5 David Reed 6 Thomas Duff pd £10 7 Paul Wood pd £10 8 Fiona G pd £10 9 Martin K pd £10
Subs 1 Fiona McTaggart 2 Tom Gold 3 Gareth 4 Susan Malcolm
Your space will only be confirmed when you have given me a £10 deposit.

If there are sufficent numbers (ie. another 9) , then the dive operators will put on a second run out to the Rock for us. If there are less than 9 on the second boat, they will still run it for us, but the cost per diver would be higher
If you are interested in the trip, then please add your name and dont be discouraged by the fact that the main trip is full.
For those who have not paid deposits, please can you confirm/cough up by no later than Saturday 1st July.

Just got back from camping today to find the trip fully subscribed. Shove me on the subs list but I don't mind paying a bit extra if another boat is going out. Bass rock is a great dive if you don't mind being shat on and swooped by the birds.

If a non-club member wanted to go on this trip would that be allowed? We're talking PADI advanced open water with own DAN insurance.

Personally I have no objection. If we cant fill a trip, then we would usually offer places out to non-club members anyway.
As a general rule though I would say that when trips are first announced, club members should have priority over non-members for spaces - after that first come first served.
Want me to add your man to the subs list/2nd boat list?

Big yin i thought you would be bored diving off subs after all those covert ops during the gulf, but we cant talk about that for another 20yrs(secrets act an that)an remember when you come up under the boat dont mine the hull, its over matey we won!!! I know im probably flogging a dead horse here but whats the chances of someone making an old BDO happy with a post that someone upheld the long tradition of a whoopee from the old crane platform on the rock!!! My first whoopee was from here an i had to do it to get the equiqment officers post, every trip there at least 1 person has jumped from it even if its to impress the tourists on the bird watching boat!!!! The new guys don't know how lucky they are IN MY DAY you had to prove you were worthy of the post i'm hoping some of the old school wont let me down here i feel an old tradition slipping away from the club and the thing is ITS A BLAST HAV A GO MAN!!!! you instantly become a WE ARE NOT WORTHY member an elite branch of bo'ness sub aqua. An more importantly you will be a GURU inthe eyes of the bold gav (now thats got to be worth it) HAPPY DOOKING done my first dive at the rock its the dive you dont forget, especially in a wet suit an ABLJ with a reg you guys are only using in the pool!!!!! Not jealous much.

I daresay if I get a place on this trip I will attempt to uphold your tradition. I will try to do this whilst holding on to all my kit too. Jumped off the big wooden pier at Furnace the other week and let my torch go at the last minute resulting in it battering me in the face and a fat lip. Do these things happen to other people or is it just me?
