Folks
this is following on from a discussion on Monday night. I've looked in all hte SSAC materials that I have for a definative explanation of the 'official' SSAC sign for 100bar and cannot find anything. Its not in the Sport Diver notes, the current manual or the old manual.
Is anyone aware of anything else
cheers Sam

I thought it was making a t sign with both hands (as in doing a ton)!

Just done some phoning around to ask the question of other club Dive Officers. Of the 5 i have asked so far from the central area, east coast, west coast, the borders and the far north of Scotland the answers so far have been thus - there is NO official scotsac sign for 100bar , only 50 which is a clinched fist however 4 are using sign the T sign as in Ton which Jo has already pointed out. The 5th is simply asking to see the pressure guage. However i will soon have in my sticky paws a copy of an approved document about air signs which was approved and adopted by Peter Cartwright, chairman and Ian Seath, national dive officer of the time and printed in the Scottish diver on the 28.2.94 and as far as we can tell has never been updated or changed. So unless MY dive officer or Scotsac headquarters send me a letter to the contrary to use and teach 1 finger as the indication of 100bar i intend to carry on as i and many others have been taught.

I thought the same as Jo but there is some ambiguity between the symbol for 100Bar and the sign for training (is one a big T and the other a little t?) . Given that my regular buddy couldn't generally give a stuff if I'm breathing or not, it's irrelevant. Get a manifolded twinset and rely on yourself!

Why pick on me? What would I need a twin set for, I don't even dive. Sticks and stones may break my bones, But whips and chains excite me!

we know you don't dive and we know why.......all those rough nasty verges that you have to park on, i mean sometimes the road isn't even level!!
and you do so have a twinset, it just is so smart on and buttons up the front and everything......do you have a matching 'martins jewellery'??

I could answer that but Jo, as child and vulnerable adult officer, has pointed out that this is part of the public forum and as we have many potential members showing an interest in the club I have to behave myself.

i didn't actually write "martin's jewellry"- the website translated what i wrote......guess it's perceptive that way.
