If you have bothered to read the minutes from the AGM you will know that i am looking to dive in the Durness area in August. I intend to travel up on the 20th and dive the 21st/22nd. There are various bed and breakfast's, a hostel and a hotel in the area but i intend to camp. I will be taking my small rib and will be diving in either locheribole or kinlochbervie. This trip is intended as a scenic dive trip and any wreck found will be purely by chance. ;D The wall opposite the entrance to kinlochbervie harbour is 2 minutes away by Rib and can give you anything from 15mtrs to 50mtr+ depending on how far along you ask to be dropped off. Even in poor sea conditions it is still possible to dive the wall and depending on numbers both days diving may be limited to this area. There is a local lad who has his own compressor and i am sure, as in previous years, Rob will be okay to provide us with the use for a small donation to either his beer fund or dinner table. (pounds sterling or scallops). Let me know if you are interested. Ronnie Tam (Boat Cox) ;D

Ronnie said "This trip is intended as a scenic dive trip and any wreck found will be purely by chance. " That's only because they keep moving the fish farm and our navigational skills are piss poor! I'm more than happy to have another look for the elusive metal this year though and I too will be camping (closer to the pub)!

No more stupidity on here. OGL has gone all responsible. Remember superman? He can stop a moving train bla bla bla. Well OGL caught a speeding Great Dane as it fell from a huge height. (only because the owners werent watching and to busy gabbing, and i was concentrating on not fainting when i saw the humungous needles)

to watch OGL catch a speeding GD was a truly marvelous sight to behold - i didn't know he could move that quickly. it was one of those slo-mo moments with a steve austin style soundtrack in your ears. truly marvelous - i was a little confused by OGLs apparent belief in the force field around a table top that stops a petite Gd falling off in the first place. and yes, i do have a big needle............go on gimp, you know you want to.....

Just a wee reminder that this trip is still on. We will be leaving on Friday the 20th and returning on the Sunday or Monday depending on how we feel. We will camp at Sango Sands but there is a bunkhouse and various B&Bs too. Anyone is welcome on the trip just for the sake of it and so long as you have a Sport Diver ticket you can enjoy the diving too. I'll be taking the boat (and cox, Tommy) so the wall dive at Kinlochbervie will be on the itinery (0 - 50m - pick your depth). It's stunning and usually provides decent viz! If the weather is good we may venture out to some small islands just outside the bay (16 - 20m) as there is a good chance of spotting a seal or two. If you fancy coming, post here or give me a call. ;D Forgot to mention - there is a pub at the campsite to satisfy our evening requirements!
