Further to recent posts on the forum, I'm pleased to announce that Jock Cockburn will be running a dive planning session on 2 April 2007 at the recreation centre to start at 8.40pm prompt.
This session will be pitched at all levels of diver, with a follow up advanced dive planning session to be held at a later date, and I would encourage everyone to come along if possible - this is the one area of dive theory that you dont want to get wrong!
The following will be covered
1. Pre-dive considerations 2. Basic decompression - NOT theory just real life things that will effect you 3. Gas management 4. Equipment considerations for various scenarios 5. Equipment configuration ideas for survival - a bit of an open discussion that is a natural follow on from no.4 above
Handouts will be provided and if anyone has a laptops please bring them along and Jock can give you electronic copies of the files there and then. Alternatively the files can be emailed to you.
If you are interested in attending the above, please can you let me know
thanks
Sam

Thanks Jock for a good all round look at the types of diving problems that can be encountered and how to tackle them. I'm sure it gave everyone something to think about. (The post lecture chat was very helpful to me since I'd obviously been calculating any additional deep stops wrong for quite some time now!) Cheers.

Even I managed to work it out..............not that i can do it yet. www.yorkshire-divers.com/forums/dir/53187-tech1-ratio-deco-explained.html
