I am looking at running a number of sessions over the coming year to cover Dive related skills which perhaps are not covered in huge detail via the Sports and Master Diver lectures.
The first session will be on Dive Planning for Club Trips and Expeditions or Personal Dive planning but I would like to organise the following (assuming there is demand for it)
Dive Planning How to plan your own dive Ensuring you have enough air for your dive Air Consumption calculations Buhlmans tables Use of Dive Computers Use of Dive Software planning tools Multiple dives
Please note that this will not cover decompression diving
Risk Assessments What is a risk assessment Why a risk assessment is needed How do you carry out a risk assessment on a dive site HSE and the diver
Incident Reports Informal review of the BSAC incident reports What can we learn from them
If you are interested in any of the above, or have a suggestion for some other form of skills development course, please let me know
thanks

Sam,
I know I have not been around the club for a wee while, but if anyone is interested (and if you wish), I could run through the dive planning stuff from when I was teching Tech. Nitorx with IANTD. I could also do a deco session for you as well.

sounds fab to me Jock - I was actually going to speak to you for some suggestions.
Although SSAC doesnt 'teach' deco diving, I think this would be a great idea for anyone in the club looking to do longer/deeper dives. Count me in for a start!
Let me know what dates suit you and I will get it organised. cheers Sam

Let me know what and when you want to do. I will split it up if you want and do a dive planning one for everyone and an advanced & deco one for the deeper (Scapa?) divers.
I'll come down on Monday night and we can have a chat about it and see what people what.
