If anyone would be interested in a weekend down at Stoney Cove, I would be happy to organise something. It's a freshwater quarry in Leicestershire and has diving for most abilities. There is a training area at 7metres, an intermediate area at 22metres and reaches a maximum depth of 36metres at the far end. There are lots of roach and huge pike and the viz is great. There are also various bit of wreckage including the largest inland wreck in Britain, the Stanegarth (it's still quite small by most peoples standards but not when you have to swim the length of it in an out of air drill with no mask!). The downside is the cold water (4degC last month) and the £12 entry fee but that includes parking. It takes 5-6 hours to get there (5hours is driving in the middle of the night with little regard for speed limits). B&B from £20 a night with 2 pubs close by.
