Been in touch with John Thornton regarding a return trip up to Scapa Flow in Orkney. His 2007 costs are £250 per person for a week on a liveaboard basis. This would be April at the earliest and will be for qualified divers who can cope with a bit of swell and currents. Use of SMBs is essential too. There are a wide variety of wrecks in the flow and beyond ranging in depth from about 14 metres to "Oh my God, I'm not going there!" Most are 20 - 40m and relaxing enough if the sea behaves. There are also plenty of places to stay in Stromness if like me staying on the boat is not your thing. Just looking for general interest at the moment. Nothing hard and fast. Can even look at other boat options or day boats If people can give an indication of whether they fancy it or not I can look at what options we have available. May even work as a long weekend for a taster. Discuss....

Ronnie will want to go but I don't know what shift I'm on at the moment. Stick him down as interested.

I'm (Martin G) deffo interested... MoshDiver Jnr will need attention and I'll need more than a few karma points to get a week... but maybe only as a day dive (or 2 will be stretching it!) if that's possible. Understand if that's not a go-er.
My chances are slightly improved with family living in that part of the world. ;D ;D

It is a 5 hour drive then an hour or so on the ferry so you'd be better to get at least a couple of nights up there if you can!

I have booked seven places on the MV Karin for the week the 5th to the 12th May. £250 quid a head including air and your cabin for the week. If you choose not to stay on board the boat, this will incur the extra cost of accomodation in Stromness. 1st come first served. Cut and paste your names to the list below. A deposit will be required shortly but I will advise of when and how much when I know myself.
1. Fiona McTaggart 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7.

just a query, but why only 7 places?
Are the other 5 places already booked, and if not will they be available when your 7 places are filled?

I only have seven names so far. Not going to book any extras till the seven are definitely filled by the people who said they were going. I don't want hit with spaces I can't fill.

1. Fiona M 2. Gareth 3. Thomas 4. Gavin (wed-sat) 5. Jock (wed-sat) 6. 7.
There are more spaces available but I need confirmation and £70 a head ASAP. (Gav/Jock will let you know how much individually).

I will be opening this trip up to Conger Alley and YD websites on the 1st November if I don't have enough bodies from the club (they are primed and I have names). At the moment I can do the whole boat (12 places) for Bo'ness club but John will not hold this forever without more readies! Get in soon or lose out. I will try to contact people who don't have internet access this month. If others could pass the word about it would be much appreciated too Thanks, Fi. Note that there are a couple of places from the 5th to the 9th (Sat-Wed) available if you're not keen on the full week. They are also held till 1st November for club members and should cost around £125. Up for it so far: 1. Fiona M 2. Gareth 3. Thomas 4. Gavin (wed-sat) 5. Jock (wed-sat)
